On Saturday morning, March 9, Anthony Joshua delivered a devastating knockout to Francis Ngannou, showcasing his dominance in the boxing ring. This marked Ngannou's second venture into boxing, and Joshua made sure it was a memorable one with a second-round knockout.

Ngannou shocked the world when he floored undefeated WBC champion Tyson Fury on his boxing debut last October giving him the opportunity  to face Joshua in a $20m Payday when Deontay Wilder was beaten by Joseph Parker in December.

This opportunity arose after Deontay Wilder was defeated by Joseph Parker in December. Initially, Ngannou displayed promise by landing his powerful left hook. However, a switch to southpaw stance may have led to overconfidence, as Joshua seized the moment and unleashed a massive right hand that sent Ngannou crashing to the canvas towards the end of the first round. Despite the brutal knockdown, Ngannou managed to stand up before the referee could count to ten.

In the next round, Joshua swiftly concluded the match by delivering a powerful backhand to Ngannou after a series of jabs to the body and head. Despite the former UFC heavyweight champion struggling to regain his composure, he was ultimately defeated by a devastating right hand that rendered him unable to stand. Joshua is now prepared to challenge the victor of the upcoming match between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in May.
