We have carefully studied the state of Nation address by President Muhammadu Buhari, hence demands for this statement to relieve Nigerians, especially our market women from the naira swap pressures.
In accordance with President Muhammadu Buhari order to the CBN Governor, the old naira notes of N1000 and N500 will no longer be accepted across Nigeria's institutions, while only the old N200 note and the new notes are the accepted currency in Nigeria.
We commend president Muhammadu Buhari on his efforts to prevent votes buying in the forthcoming general election, and in preventing kidnap for ransom across the country through cashless policy.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has before now, sympatises with affected Nigerians that are suffering at across banks in Nigeria during depositing of the old notes, suffering during time to get the new notes, and suffering during this critical period of rejecting old notes while unable to get the new notes.
As you are all aware of the consequences of the directive of president Muhammadu Buhari order with CBN on the helpless citizens, despite supreme Court injunction restraining the federal government and the CBN from February 10th deadline of the old naira notes, so also we are assuring you that there is a remedy for every living things.
Subsequently, we are not unaware of a military government that dismissed some set of soldiers while the said soldiers were actively in a war front, but dismissed without efforts by the government to retrieve weapons from the soldiers before the pronouncement of their dismissals.
Since it is obvious that the CBN is acting through a directive, on our own parts, we reiterate our submissions that advisers into this cogent situation should be informed that whatever policy done that hurts the masses, it means that such policy is not good enough. Therefore, as a patriotic Nigerians, we shall continue to defend and protect the interest of the masses.
We have noted that the variable new notes are not available as at now, and we will ensure that the available old notes cannot be variable.
Consequently,
Members of the public, especially the most affected Nigerians in the naira swap policy across both rural and urban areas are advised to continue accepting the old Naira notes and circulate it within the society across Nigeria without taking it to bank, pending the time being that new notes will be sufficiently available for every Nigerians.
Since a court injunction, a suit against the policy of the urgent 10th February deadline is pending at the supreme Court for hearing on 22nd February 2023, extension of only N200 note would be set aside by new Government.
This policy will not last beyond 8th days to this time. After February 25th Presidential election, both the all old notes and all new notes would be sufficient in the society, and there would be no deadline for old notes expiration, as people will voluntarily deposit it at convenient time.
We appreciate your patience at this trying time not to have committed the country to a rioting period over this policy.
Do not be panic. When things are usually like this, It is obvious that the new Government is coming to renew the hope of Nigerians and the nation.
