  • The CVL Entertainment Sector Celebration

The CVL Entertainment Sector Celebration is an aspect of CVL Economic Growth Sector Celebration Series an initiative of Centre for Values in Leadership to acknowledge, appreciate and celebrate the contributions of leading sectors to economic growth in Nigeria.

In April 2014, Nigeria was declared the biggest economy in Africa and one of the 11 global growth generators, adding 89% to its GDP, now $510 billion soaring past the previous leader South Africa at $370 billion. (The Economist). Certain sectors such as Information and Communications Technology, Agriculture, Commerce, Manufacturing, Entertainment etc.

CVL will be hosting an array of Entertainment industry personalities ranging from Nollywood to Music, Fashion etc at the forth coming CVL Entertainment Sector Celebration. It is important to mention that our very own Nollywood is placed 3rd in global revenue earnings that practitioners from Hollywood can no longer ignore the industry but seek joint collaborations in movie works. Even during the recession, this sector continued to thrive as people still went to the cinemas, listened to music, watched videos and TV shows.

The event is a platform to celebrate this sector, particularly individuals, groups and organizations that have made this growth possible and also an opportunity to showcase the sector as an examplar to other sectors and aspiring artistes.

CVL is working with a sector evaluation team on this project. Some of them are; Zik Zulu Okafor (Writer & Movie Producer), Charles Okafor (Actor), Victor Olaotan of Tinsel, Bene Uche, Ego Boyo, Uzoma Mba of Musicnations, Seye Kehinde of City People, Chris Uwaje, Tewa of Exquisite Magazine, Seun Oloketuyi and Paul Ikhane.
