AKURE – Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has been described as a bridge builder and national asset due to his performances as a legislator.
Femi Salako, publisher, Triangle Media, stated this while speaking on what made the celebration of the 59th birthday of the 13th speaker of the green chamber worthwhile.
He commented on Gbajabiamila’s performances in political positions he had occupied, saying he’s a promoter of peace and unity of all ethnic nationals in the federation.
According to him, “His leadership has fostered harmony and unity in parliament and among the various arms of government.
“He is described by many as an effective bridge builder across tribes, across religions, across political parties, and even generations. He has proved to be an innovative mediator and an honest broker in several local and national disputes and conflicts.
“As the speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, he has been able to lead not just a conducive lower legislative House, fostering peace and harmony, but has also ensured a good relationship between the Red Chamber and the Green Chamber.
“He was elected his party’s leader and minority whip of the House. It is on record that at the end of his second tenure in the House, Gbajabiamila had sponsored the highest number of bills in the National Assembly.”
