The Security Group in Ilaje Local Government of Ondo State saddled with security affairs of its citizens in ilaje Local Government has petitioned the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, zone 2 Headquarters in Lagos, Lagos State, to unravel the circumstances surrounding how Mrs Bolanle Aworetan Omojuwa was allegedly shot dead in her car by bandits at Guru Maharaji village, on the Lagos/Ibadan expressway on August 19, 2021.

The group claimed that the deceased while traveling with two children after her mother burial in Lagos was shot dead in the presence of her two children. Therefore, implored the Assistant Inspector General of Police zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos to use his good office to investigate and prosecute the suspects in accordance with the law.

The group in the statement signed by its Admin and Publicity, Prince Emorioloye Owolemi and made available to newsmen asked the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 2 to investigate what they described gruesome murder of Mrs Bolanle and prosecute anyone culpable, threatening to go to court should the police fail to act.

They accused the police zone of negligence in the incessant brutality and killings of innocent persons in the zone by bandits.

The group also demanded adequate compensation to the families of the deceased and a public apology for negligence in the heinous crime against citizens who are supposed to remain under the protection of the Police.

The petitioner's noted that, in the past, various episodes of reckless application of bandits brutality were recorded in the zone 2, and most of the cases were slipped and buried under the carpet by police, after all, knowing fully the powerless can never fight the ferocity of the most sophisticated bandits killing innocent souls. Hence, issues of human rights breaches and brutal rape of the ethical procedures by this bandits are always ignored and on many occasions by police which their indiscretion swept under the carpet.

"Regrettably, one of our young promising live of Mrs Bolanle Omojuwa a UK base was dragged out by the bandits whose loosen sense of reasoning in modern society invited the brutal bullet of this rouge assailants which sucked out the live of this innocent soul in the presence of her two children. The form of such killing is against the known norms and ethics of the Ilaje race". Prince Emorioloye said.
