PHOTO: Old Man Caught Putting Eggs In In-law’s Casket During Her Burial
The act of a 60-year-old man caused a scene at a funeral after he was apprehended, while placing eggs inside a late successful businesswoman’s casket during her burial service.
The strange incident reportedly happened at Eshiakhulo village located in Mumias East, Kakamega County, Kenya, during the burial ceremony of a popular businesswoman named Jane Mguu a.k.a Raila
The suspect named Benson Wetende, an in-law to the late woman, from Shibuli, the neighbouring area, was captured while he was gently moving towards the coffin and then putting two eggs inside it,
An eyewitness, Stella Musimbi said;
“We thought he was going to pay his last respect since the deceased was a well-known business lady around here, but we were shocked to see him dropping two eggs inside the coffin.
Mourning Relatives and those present, who were surprised by his action, held him and demanded that he revealed the meaning of his actions, as many said Watenda was a wizard.
“We asked him what the motive behind his actions was, but he could not explain.” Musimbi added
Simon Malenya, the presiding bishop from Faith Believers church, was forced to bring the service to an abrupt end and tried his best to save the old man from being lynched by angry mourners after he couldn’t give reasons why he placed the two eggs in the casket.
