NEW: A heated argument over the Alabama and Texas A&M game turned into a deadly shooting Saturday in Bessemer. Police there responded to the 1000 block of 6th Avenue North on a person shot around 10:45 p.m. An adult male, who has been identified as 27-year-old Kealand Amad Pickens, was found with several gunshot wounds to the torso according to BPD. Pickens was treated on the scene and transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham where he died. The shooter ran from the scene and hasn’t caught.
“The two were arguing over which team was better and the home owner told both to leave. Once outside the residence, shots were fired. Occupants of the home went outside to investigate and found our deceased shot, but still alive at that moment,” Lt. Christian Clemons said.
