Erling Haaland’s stunning effort against Southampton has been nominated for April’s Goal of the Month award.
Haaland produced a beautiful overhead kick in the 4-1 victory over the Saints at St Mary’s Stadium.
The star striker has scored 35 goals in the Premier League and 51 across all competitions and this one could just about be the best of the lot in 2022/23.
Leading 2-0, Jack Grealish marauded down the left channel before chipping the ball into the path of Haaland, who in turn sent it crashing into the back of the net following a sensational scissor kick.
Haaland is up against seven other contenders and the vote is open now.
The other nominees are Marcus Tavernier (Bournemouth v Fulham); Michael Keane (Everton v Tottenham); Son Heung-Min (Tottenham v Brighton); Matheus Nunes (Wolves v Chelsea); Julio Enciso (Chelsea v Brighton); Callum Wilson (Everton v Newcastle) and Jacob Murphy (Everton v Newcastle).
The vote is open now and closes at 12:00 (UK) on Monday 8 May.
The winner will be announced on Friday 12 May at 13:00 (UK).
