He appealed to well meaning Nigerians, politicians and investors to partake in contributing to the students returning back to school. He made a contribution of 10 million naira to the Brekete ASUU Account and also urged presidential aspirants of parties to contribute the amount they might have used to purchase party tickets as it would be more than sufficient to meet up with the demands of ASUU and prompt a revolution in the educational sector of the country.
Making a statement via his twitter handle @OrdinaryGcon, he said, "This ASUU intervention donation shall determine how we can turn things around in this country. Your 50, 100, 200, 400 or 500-1 billion, will make a difference. Please Nigerians, shout it out and make sure you donate."
While Nigerians especially students welcomed the idea, it didn't appeal to some as they see it as a means to enabling the government deviate from doing their duty.
The Academic Staff Union Of Universities demanded a sum of 18 billion naira and about 12 million has been raised so far in the supposed crowdfunding.
