DAILY REFLECTION
SUNDAY 25TH JUNE, 2017
THEME: DO NOT SAY
TEXT: JEREMIAH 1: 1-10
HYMN: EMHB 548 - All things are possible to him
It is obvious that many people's circumstances may warrant them a total disapproval of themselves. Some tend to abolish the blessings of God that come to them when they doubt some of the promises of God.
God may decide to choose anyone or anything and prove His glory. He doesn't necessarily call the stronger or the qualified but he qualifies those that He calls. This is so in the case of Jeremiah whom God had ordained from his mother's womb for a purpose. Jeremiah saw his age as a barrier for the fulfilment of God's purpose in his life. Paul in His epistle to the Philippians writes, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” … (Phil. 4:13). Ability is not manufactured by us but the source is from God who is the Master of the vineyard.
It is, therefore, disheartening to see yourself in the realm of impossibilities. Tear off 'impossibility' from your mental dictionary. Today, make up your mind that every challenge that may come your way can be handled. Just believe that you can finish that abandoned project. Do not say 'I can't continue'; do not say. 'There is no assistance for me'; do not say, 'The time is too short or still very long'. Remember, excuse is the salt that makes failure sweet. Position yourself for the service of the Lord and He will establish your endeavours. Remember that faith in God Almighty laughs at all impossibilities.
MEMORY VERSE: Jer. 1:7 “But the Lord said to me, “Do not say 'I am a youth' for you shall go to all to whom I send you and whatever I command you, you shall speak” (NKJV).
PRAYER: Lord, make me to look up to You by grace in all my dealings in Jesus' name. Amen.
