🌿 Living Above Your Scars 🌿
Yes, I have scars—deep ones. Physical scars, emotional scars, and scars that no one else can see but me and God. I’ve been through battles that left marks on my body, my mind, and my soul. Some of those wounds took time to heal, and others are still healing. But you know what? I made a choice years ago: I will live above my scars.
Scars are not a sign of weakness. They are the evidence that I survived what tried to destroy me. They are a reminder of where I’ve been, what I’ve overcome, and how God brought me through. They are part of my story, but they are not my identity.
The world will often try to point at your scars. Some people will bring up your past just to hurt you. They’ll try to define you by your mistakes, failures, heartbreaks, or even things you had no control over. But let me say this loud and clear: You are more than your scars.
You are not what happened to you. You are who you chose to become in spite of what happened.
You are not your brokenness. You are the strength that rose from it.
You are not your pain. You are the healing that followed.
Don’t hide your scars in shame. Wear them with grace. They are proof that you’re still standing.
Let them remind you of your strength, not your suffering.
I’ve learned that healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means finding peace with the memory. It means growing through the pain and turning it into purpose. So, to anyone reading this today: no matter your scars—visible or hidden—you can rise above them. Don’t let anyone use your past to keep you from your future.
Keep moving forward. Keep believing. Keep healing.
You are more than your scars—and your best is still ahead. 💪🏽✨
